I love mobile phones. I'm a total gadet geek, but I'm also poor, so don't get to buy everything I want. I was a semi-early adopter of the iPhone and loved it instantly. I over paid for it. Spent to much on cases and accessories, but attached my phone to my palms and never put it down. I'm definitely one to ignore some glaring flaws to my device because of the upside.
People forget when the iphone 1st gen came out it was missing a lot of features. NO APPS! You couldn't even move the apps that came pre-installed around on the home screen. I waited with baited breath for every update and checked gizmodo, cnet, engadet, and other blogs daily for cool apps, updates, tips, and gossip. Time passed, the 3G, 3GS, and iphone 4 came and went, but I wasn't ready to jump on the upgrade train yet. For mostly financial reasons, and my iphone 2G was still working fine (despite crappy reception and call quality).
I feel like a huge dork (am pretty much am) for being an early adopter, and am loosing out on polished features of Android 2.2 and 2.3 and iOS 4.2 but I have been very intrigued by the new Windows Phone 7 mobile platform. I reviewed every option on At&t and it is pretty clear from most reviews the Samsung Focus is the best overall choice. I played around a little a couple times at the store, as nobody I knew had one. Immediately the bright shiny screen popped, the performance was snappy, and the smooth interface had me bugged eyed and geeked up. I re-read the reviews and there wasn't a ton out there, but I bit the bullet this weekend (with a little $$$ help from my office... better email for travel, right!??).
I have lots of thoughts on the pros and cons of this new platform, so am diving into blogging as a 1st attempt.
